Acne laser treatment - ineffective or not?
Before a person can say if acne laser treatment is ineffective,
the person would have to consider and understand laser treatments
and how they work.
Acne Laser Treatments
One of the leading treatments for acne
is Rosacea. Before you choose laser surgery to remove acne
it is important that you do some research. There are side
effects to consider. The first step is to get a diagnosis.
A dermatologist should look at your skin and provide you
with this diagnosis.
Laser treatments to reduce acne are a big
decision. Your doctor may be able to treat your acne problem
with antibiotics or with some topical creams. This is the
most affordable way to treat acne, yet some of the drugs
used to treat the problem have side effects.
Alternatives to acne laser treatments
It is important that you consider other
alternatives to laser treatments. You may want to talk with
your doctor about Clindamycin, Erythromycin, or Benzoyl
peroxide. The treatments are used to kill bacteria, which
builds up and causes acne outbreaks. There are some side
effects, such as diarrhea, but it is rare. The treatments
are used to treat acne, but it may dry out the skin, and
it can discolor the hair and clothes.
In this instance, laser treatments may
be in order. To unclog pores doctors often prescribe Tretinoin.
However, the treatment is known to irritate the skin and
make it sensitive to sunlight. When you first start the
treatment, acne tends to worsen. To notice any improvements
you may have to wait 2 to 3 weeks. You must wear protective
clothing and sunscreen while taking the drugs. When you
consider the side effects of drugs, laser treatments might
just be an option for you.
Laser treatments however have their own
side effects. Laser treatment often leaves bruises on the
face. It could take two weeks before the bruises to disappear.
Amazingly, the most effective laser treatments actually
leave the worst bruises. Laser treatment can also cause
infections but usually an infection will develop only if
there is some pre-existing medical condition present. Laser
treatment is more expensive than other acne treatments.
Therefore, if you are looking to save money, then laser
treatment might be the last resort.
Acne laser treatments are known to be very
effective, but it depends on the doctor, person, and the
skin condition. Some people have had laser treatment and
found that it did not work, while others got instant results.
Other alternatives to laser treatment include
Tazarotene, yet like Tretinoin, the drug irritates the skin
and makes it sensitive to sunlight. Adapalene is also used
to treat acne but this particular acne treatment can cause
redness, burning, and increased sun sensitivity. Azelaic
acid may cause the skin to lighten.
Acne laser treatment, ineffective or not?
Laser treatment is an effective way to get rid of acne yet,
like any other remedy, laser treatment comes with a price.
Not only is it costly, it leaves bruising, which could last
for weeks; but if you consider that acne stays while the
bruising leaves, then laser treatment is effective.
